I suffer a great deal with clinical depression. wouldlike to chat about it ?Q.for the biggest part of the past 35 years I have had to deal with various types of depression. Primary Clinical Depression, as I seem to have a chemical imbalance. One Dr. indicated it was like a car that had wiring problems. Things were shorting out and making me severly depressed. Its a terriblke way to live and I am trying to get some help. A.we sound rather similar. have you ever not been depressed?? for me, i descibe depression as having a kife stuck in your leg at birth. then you go through life with this knife cutting you more everytime you move. trying to compeate on an equal plain with normal people, never knowing that you are even different. then one day someone asks you, "why not just take the knife out of your leg???" at 34 i was finally told i had depression. everyone else seemed to know it but noone had told me. i had never been not depressed so how was i supposed to know. now i can pull the knfe out but i cannot repair the damage of living all those years with it in. You don't mention whether or not you are in therapy and/or on medication. Personally, i have benefitted from both. You may also want to cotinue posting and writing to ASD and individuals. There are many here who care and have had many experiences with depression. Have you tried antidepressants for your depression? They help correct the "wiring problems" much like taking insulin helps a diabetic. They can literally be a lifesaver. Several folks I know have went through some really bad times the last nine years. This coincides with the fuel additive MTBE being added to gasoline. I predict the MTBE lawsuits will be bigger than tobacco every was. MTBE causes many wierd symptoms. I feel certain it affected my friends, because of the area we live in. They say 15-20% of the population is sensitive to MTBE and it's by products. Also more women than men are affected. I suspect the womens body fat given by nature for mothering, might hold the toxins. Other Questions : Clinical Depression Case Study.
