Clinical Depression Quiz. Real tough quiz?

Q.I've come across some decent trivia during the last few weeks, enough to post a bit of a quiz. Some of these questions are related, others not. Some of these questions were asked on IRC a few weeks ago - those who were present might like to keep the answers to themselves for a bit.

A.He was given a trial for the county in the nets, but looked very unimpressive. However, Somerset found themselves a man short for their next match (against Essex at Frome) when a player dropped out through injury, and Gimblett was hurriedly called up as the only man available. I think it was against the 1950 West Indieans. I can't recall the reason, but would guess it may have been thought he was the man to break the stranglehold imposed by Ramadhin and Valentine. I believe he left the game shortly afterwards, suffering from clinical depression. died of TB at age 23 in Ingarfield Hospital in Brisbane on the same day as (but whether before or after I don't know) Eddie Paynter hit a six to win the Ashes on the 1932-33 tour. His body travelled down to Sydney on the train carrying both teams on their way to the final Test of the Bodyline series. now not many people got this one. There is NO data available wrt Trumper's birthdate. No birth certificate (under "trumper" OR his mother's maiden name), no details no nothing. Someone suggested he may have been adopted, or even from NZ. I don't know about that, but certainly he looked nothing like his brother's or sisters, and the fact that he was born well before his parent's marriage suggests that at the very least, he had a different father to his siblings.
