SSRI controversy exposes clinical "research" for charade it is! ?

Q.the European trials had mild to moderate depression, rather than severe depression. Significant evidence in adult populations indicates that SSRIs are not very effective for mild to moderate adult depression. Thus, 'why would they work for mild or moderate depression in kids?'

A.these clinical trials inform us about clinical guidelines for care. I think they inform us that generally the SSRIs are probably effective- the data are largely ambiguous, but certainly not negative. Don't you know that you're only supposed to read her headline, not the article itself? Understanding it is strictly verbotten. Actually daring to post what it *does* say is heresy of the highest order, and you'll wind up burning at the stake with me if you're not careful. If that happens, don't forget the marshmallows, okay? I'll bring the pointy sticks. precisely... and if their are doubts as to the safety the conclusion globally by all responsible authorities is thst they are counter-indicated.. and that the risk-benefit ratio is fatally skewed.. hence the instructions not to prescribe SSRIs for children your dogged idiosycratic attempt to argue children and pregnant women should ignore the published safety warnings concerning SSRIs is as ill-fated as it is perverse.. Improvement in control groups is strong; additional benefit from drugs is of doubtful clinical significance," they said, adding, "adverse effects have been down-played." They concluded that "antidepressant drugs cannot confidently be recommended as a treatment option for childhood depression." Address the issue of mild to moderate versus severe depression, and we'll have something to talk about. The study population, as a putatively representative sample of the general population, is absolutely a germaine issue.
