Amazing Depression Cure, Unbelieveable. ?

Q.If all this fails, off yourself, cuz we're all just wasting consciousness here anyway. It's really a joke. Sooner we all wake up, the sooner we can exit the game. No cheating allowed. I mean come-on...did you REALLY think any of it meant anything? Or means anything?

A.If you feel we are all in some sort of game, then perhaps you might as well join in; it would pass the time, and who knows - you might even get something out of it after all. Nothing to lose, anyway ;)) If getting involved seems like too much effort, then perhaps there is something to talk to a doctor about; shift the odds a little in your favour? Alcohol is infamous for it's depressive effects. Losing a drink habit is tough, but many people seem to find it worthwhile, and things can look better when the haze clears. Saves money too, being sober! That's where the will-power and moral support come in. I haven't had a drink problem, but I do know that not smoking gets a little bit easier every day I don't smoke. (I can't even remember the last time I smoked; once, I could have told you the date and time. Must have been some time in the early 90s). I thought it was pretty well established that alcohol can really mess you up; it slowly destroys the brain, nervous system, liver, and probably other useful bits. Any mood-enhancement wears off very quickly, and the withdrawal symptoms are hell. Drinking to make life more tolerable, works better for the sellers than for the consumers; it was the profit motive that broke US prohibition of alcohol, just as it is the profit motive that is breaking the prohibition of other drugs today. (Illegal trade is often far more profitable than legal trade - no price controls, no taxes, no quality control, no fancy packaging, no anti-cartel rules, etc). One of the most well-known effects of alcohol, is that it aggravates Depression. Prescription medications for Depression /do/ work. Combining them with counselling, works even better for many people. There's a sporting chance that a course of professional treatment will get rid of your Depression once and for all - and it makes life a lot more bearable anyway.
