Depression, PMS/PMDD or Perimenopause?

Q.Won't you be glad not to have your "friend" every month? My mother just wishes her periods were over already (she's 51). I found an interesting dialog for you that will tell you that menopause doesn't mean you have to suffer with depression also....Its long

A.In the course of my endless search to identify what is wrong with me I read through, a book called "Before the Change" by Gittleman, about "Perimenopause" Check out list of symptoms of ovarina hormonal imbalance/changes occuring in women before the change! acne, allergies, anger, ankle/feet swelling, anxiety, backache, bloating, blood sugar imbalance, bone loss, breast sagging/tenderness, depression, facial hair, fatigue, feeling crazy, fibrocystic breasts, fuzzy thinking, hair loss/thinning, headaches, heart palpitations, hot flashes, hypothyroidism, hysteria, insomnia, irritability, jointpain, leg cramps, menstrual irregularities, migraines, memory problems, mood swings, muscular weakness, night sweats, panic attacks, diminished sex drive, skin aging/drying, skin spots, stomach cramps, urinary incontinance, urinary infections, utirine fibroids, vaginal dryness, water retention, weeping, weight gain, weight loss inability. I want to second this message. I had a post menopausal woman I saw for two years who had severe depression and was only partially responsive, at best, to anything I threw her way. She also complained of memory problems. In desperation I added unopposed estrogen, and relatively rapidly this converted her to a good responder to venlafaxine (I suspect it might have worked with other partially effective medications that I had tried).
