depression quiz ?

Q.I've missed you. I thought you'd given up on posting to as.l I go through phases of wanting to and then trying to stop but I don't have much of an incentive to give up whilst I'm in this position (like you I'm in a position that I have no, or not much, control over). I think this can be depressing. Sounds like you've got severe depression and I really think you need to get help with that. Are you any closer to being able to help yourself?

A.I think that test is heavily weighted in giving people the idea that they have some form of depression. I mean to get a healthily low / background level of depression it looks like you have to be a hedonist wearing industrial strength rose tinted glasses. From what I can see 50 ought to be baseline normal. If you're not depressed to some degree, you probably don't understand how truly awful life is. I have been "down" for some time, but it certainly isn't a huge problem that warrants "treatment" - yet. Just the usual no partner problem.......one day......i'll find someone....having said that I did answer some questions that made me feel that there were issues that I need to address. So it might help to pull me round a bit by identifying that i have issues. You never are that sure, as the quality of horror of the loss of identity and so forth varies each time it rears itself...I also feel that there are no meaningful referents when each time some evil poison makes the brain sicken so, we are in some other universe, where the rules of self esteem, meaning, anything...they just don't apply. Why not define depression as being a condition where there's a sinister jeering stranger spitting in your face and saying "You're a LONG WAY from HOME!".
