depression statistics ?

Q.can anyone lead me to the number of mental or depression patients in the US over the years? or tell me how to find this information, search engine not being easy. Im trying to figure out whether the number of depressed patients or increasing or decreasing, as with the number of bi polar and psychotic patients.

A.coincidentally, i'm researching a local community health profile for my area. i'm in the uk, so it may be different, but here are some of the places i've been getting information from: department of health (number in phone book) central library - plenty of documents on health statistics (usually kept in the same place as census statistics) health authority library (i found out about this from the central library) university library (loads of reference stuff here...open to all) Why do you need to know all this crap? Why cant you just buckle down and start taking the meds that were suggested? What is your fucking problem? Here is my prediction for you Eric. I think you will never get out of mental illness, simply because you are too fucked up to realize medication is the ONLY way out if your problems are halfway severe.
