generic Zoloft?

Q.The chemical name of Zoloft is sertraline. The generic brand I have is called Depsert. It's potent. If you have to pay for it yourself, I can tell you where you can get it cheap, but there is some risk of it being seized by customs. You can probably order it reasonably cheap from Canada if you live in the US and have a US prescription.

A.It's already generic? wow. Don't worry it wouldn't be seized by customs since it is only an antidepressant. Since they're changing our insurance coverages at my work, maybe yours too sometime, this may be of interest to some who will have to pay for drug prescriptions. Using generic drugs is the single most important way that you can help to save money -- for yourself as well as for your health benefit provider -- while ensuring that you receive quality health care. On average, generic drugs can save about half the cost of the equivalent brand-name drug. For some drugs, this savings can be as great as 90 percent of the brand-name price. PCS plans include programs that help to encourage the prescribing, dispensing and use of generic drugs. Following is information about generic drugs and how they play an important role in your prescription benefit plan. When people hear the word "generic," they sometimes have a negative reaction. They think of the generic food products that are available in many supermarkets and which often are of lower quality than similar brand-name food products. A generic drug is different, however, and should not be thought of in the same way. Generic drugs are made with the same active ingredient(s) found in the brand-name product. All generic drugs must meet the same manufacturing and testing standards as the brand-name drug and must be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Generic drugs also must show, through testing, that they are absorbed into the bloodstream at the same rate and in the same total amount as the brand-name drug. This similarity ensures that the generic drug has the same effectiveness as the brand-name drug. Since 1984, all generic drugs approved in the U.S. have shown themselves to be equivalent to the branded versions.
