Q.Both my parents lived through the great depression of the 1930s, so I heard plenty of stories about it. If you haven't had that opportunity, you might take a look at the Time/Life Video, This Century, the 1930s. There was a time when Americans went homeless, had no food. The banks closed and many lost all their savings. People were so desperate, 100,000 left the USA for the USSR to get work. The depression spread to Europe, leading the rise of Hitler.
