Pink Depression Glass

Q.I have a berry bowl in the Bubble pattern. Have read only limited amount made in pink. Would like to know if this is true and estimated value.

A.I have never seen berry bowls but have seen the bigger 8 3/8" ones - maybe 3 times. They also did cups and saucers in pink. Those you see around $100 a set. The bigger bowls I think you can buy for $20 or less. I am not sure what the berry size bowls go for. It is true that Bubble was only made in very limited amounts (and shapes) in pink. Production began in 1937, and the fad for pink and a paler green -- those typical depression colors -- was dying out by the mid- to late '30's. If what you have is the 8-3/4" master berry bowl, Warman's Depression Glass guide (published within the last year) prices it at $750. Gene Florence's latest edition of his Depression glass guide prices it at $7.00. (I'm betting that the $7.00 is a typo -- all the other pieces of pink bubble are priced much higher, and that $7.00 is less than the price for other colors in Bubble! But your guess is as good as mine as to what price he meant to give it...) I can't find any evidence that the smaller berry bowl was ever made in pink. If that's what you've got, it's rare enough that you aren't going to find a price in a guide...
